If your event happens every week or every month, you don't need to build each date by hand. Set your pattern once with Add Recurring Days, and SignUpGenius generates every date and time slot for you automatically.

Add Recurring Days When You Create Your Sign Up

  • Log in and start creating a sign up in your account.
  • On the Slots tab, select Add Dates.
  • In the box that pops up, choose Add Recurring Days.
  • Set your pattern: the days of the week, the time, and how far out you want dates to go.
  • Click Add Dates. Your dates and times generate automatically based on what you entered.
  • Need more than one recurring time? Run the tool again to add another pattern to the same sign up.

Genius Tip

If your event runs on more than one schedule, like a Tuesday shift and a separate Thursday shift, run Add Recurring Days once for each pattern instead of trying to fit both into a single setup.

Keeping a Large Recurring Sign Up Manageable

A sign up that spans several months or a full year can get long. Hide Past or Future Dates keeps things easy to navigate for your group by automatically hiding dates outside the window you choose.

Select how far in the past or future you want dates to show. As time passes, older dates hide on their own, and new dates appear based on the settings you picked. Participants only see what's actually relevant right now.

When You Might Want a Separate Sign Up Each Month Instead

Add Recurring Days is the right tool for most repeating events. But some organizers prefer a fresh sign up every month instead, often because the slots, questions, or group changes from one month to the next, or because separate reports are easier to review one month at a time.

If that fits how you organize, duplicate your sign up at the start of each new month rather than adding to one long recurring sign up. This isn't a required extra step, it's simply a different way to structure things if it suits your event better.

Duplicating a Sign Up

Duplicating creates a clean copy of your sign up with no participant names carried over, ready for a new month's dates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Add Recurring Days work for both weekly and monthly events?
Yes. Set the pattern that fits your event, whether it repeats weekly, on specific days, or on a longer cycle, and the tool generates the matching dates automatically.

Can I edit one date without changing the whole recurring sign up?
Yes. Once your dates are generated, you can edit, add, or remove individual dates and times without affecting the rest of the sign up.

Do I need to duplicate my sign up every month?
No. Add Recurring Days handles ongoing repeating events on its own. Duplicating each month is only useful if you specifically want separate sign ups, not a requirement for recurring dates to work.

What happens if my recurring sign up gets too long to navigate?
Use Hide Past or Future Dates to automatically hide dates outside a set window, so participants only see what's currently relevant.
